A new production of Goodbye Barcelona opens in November 2016 in Madrid following a successful initial run there in April. There are readings in Barcelona and Mexico City in November 2016 and a revival of the award winning production in Barcelona is planned for 2017. The show has an international appeal with a story that speaks to people from around the world.

In March 2012 and February 2015, Goodbye Barcelona was screened at the University Complutense of Madrid, at an event organized by the AABI (Friends of the International Brigades). The 2015 screening was attended by the leading local producers and led to an offer of a Madrid production.

Following the overwhelming success of the Catalan theatre production at Teatre Del Raval , the film was screened in Barcelona over 4 weekends at Cinemas Girona in October and November 2014.

In March 2014 the film was screened by AGDAZ at cinema 3001 in Hamburg to a packed house and great interest from several German theatres and producers. This led to a screening by KFSR of the musical in Berlin, held in October 2014 at the Babylon cinema. Consequently producers are planning a Berlin production of the show in 2017.

ALBA organized a screening of the film of Goodbye Barcelona on December 11, 2013 at the Spanish Benevolent Society of NewYork. The event was attended by members of ALBA as well as various representatives of New York theatres and production companies.

The success of the screening led to an offer of a live reading on Broadway from James Morgan of The York Theatre Company The reading took place to a full house with a New York cast in May 2014, directed by Hans Friedrichs. Plans are in progress to continue developing the show there.

The LIBMT (Limerick International Brigades Association) also screened the film to a full house in September 2014 at the Lime Tree Theatre in Ireland.
